Born in 1972, Japan. After several years of playing
guitar in a rock band in Tokyo, Aki began to learn Indian classical music and
met Sitar when he was 22 years old. Studied under Dr AMAR NATH MISHRA in Varanasi,
India for seven years.
Won 1st prize of Sitar section in a musical competition under the auspices of
Utter Pradesh state Government in India, 1996.
In 1998, Aki started his music career in Europe and held a concert as his official
debut on SFB 4, one of the major radio station in Germany.
Since then Aki performed in Germany, France, Poland as a solo Sitarist as well
as collaborating with wide variety of musicians and recording with them. Also
composed music for dance and text theaters in Europe. Meanwhile, his pursuit of
establishing original music career which goes beyond all the musical genres started
in the city with unique musical environment, Berlin, Germany.
Later 2001 Aki began to study Sitar under the world-renowned Sitarist USTAD SHUJAAT
KHAN(2004 Grammy nominee),who is based in India and the US. By learning Sitar
technique, logic, style and vocalism under the flame keeper of classical music,
he attempted to elaborate and evolve his music within traditional style of Indian
music.
2002 to 2003 Aki lived in Israel and was highly-influenced by its cosmopolitanized
life environment. He adapted his Sitar to various worldwide musical settings such
as Arabic and Mediterranean as an artist of exploration and expansion. He performed
in major festivals with local musicians and maintains a good friendship with them
up to today.
First tour throughout Japan in Autumn 2003, held 10 concerts include Tokyo, Osaka,
Hyogo and Okayama and highly acclaimed in every place.
First mini album "Blue Fish" was released in October 2004. It is his
first self-produced album featured 3 outstanding musicians from different countries
and musical backgrounds.
Since 2005 Aki has based in Japan and established his own label "Co-World".
Based on his worldwide activities, "Co-World" keeps producing perfectly
free and open-minded expression of music but with the tradition as a constant
factor. His secound album "Invisible Visions" is released from "Co-Wolrd"
in 2006 and in stores now.
